Welcome to the Black Fatherhood & Latinx Voces podcasts.

The people I interview are often portrayed as interlopers — intrusive, always taking never giving. Latinos, LGBTQ+, Black fathers, and underrepresented artists, whose joyous life experiences are absent due to a discourse overflowing with stories of death, abuse, despair, violence, and/or drugs, are silenced by omission.

And while there is no mistaking that these horrors exist disproportionately in underrepresentedvccommunities, avoiding the many fruitful and thriving lives in these communities perpetuates the interloper stereotype. They are never truly part of the fabric of society but a nuisance to put up with.

As a queer Latina mother, I collect and publish digital stories of diverse people in light of their accomplishments as a testament to our humanity and our prosperity to create possibilities out of what may seem impossible circumstances.

These podcasts are part of my Literature of Possibilities project are my counter-narratives.
